Description: Children can quickly outgrow their school uniforms – and this is usually before the uniforms are worn out (especially under pandemics as physical classes are reduced). It is estimated that students change their uniforms at least every 1-2 years. While each student would have 6 to 8 sets of uniforms in average including summer, winter, and sports uniforms, it is estimated that around 4 million pieces of uniforms are replaced every year.

UNI Green Series – “UNI” stands for Uniform and Unique. The program helps repurpose old uniforms into unique souvenirs. The schools joining the program will first collect the old uniforms and let other parents take them. For the uniforms that are of poor quality or are not taken by the parents will be upcycled and repurposed as school souvenirs or to be used in the upcycling workshop. We promote inclusive economy by hiring housewives and elderly to assist in the garment work and upcycling workshops.

Being a platform for extending and enhancing the lifespan and value of the pre-loved uniforms, UNI Green reduces textile wastes, alongside alleviating poverty and advocating social inclusion.
